What a joy it is when your long time (something like 28 years) best friend has her first baby! There are photos floating around on the Facebook interwebs of the teary scene that went down when Nicki introduced me to her newborn, Joey. It was so surreal! What a joy to watch your friend become a mother. Of course he has already had two photoshoots in his first week of life… haha! Here’s a few digital previews to hold you guys over until the film scans make their appearance in my inbox in a few weeks!

I can’t adequately express how much I LOVE this style of newborn photography. I don’t think I will ever shoot them another way again. They are simple and timeless and don’t involve hours of struggling with making a newborn comfortable and naked with endless props and poses that could end up looking dated down the road. This shoot was the epitome of peaceful… which is really unheard of when it comes to newborn photography… haha!!! She just went about her day as normal, was comfortable and loved on baby Joey. I can’t wait to shoot more like this! Love me some baby Joey and his Mama… so this is just the first of many, many appearances they will make on my blog!
