Pulaski Square Elopement | Yuki & Jieun

FILED IN: Wedding

It was such an honor for Hunter and I to officiate and document the elopement of our good friends Yuki & Jieun. I can not tell you how much I love elopements. They are simple, relaxed and yet so meaningful. With this… I am so excited to announce that I am slowly transitioning my business to elopements, boudoir & portraits. I am only taking on a limited amount of “traditional weddings” after June of 2018.

Hunter and I are just so thrilled to create incredible elopement experiences here in Savannah. He is ordained to officiate wedding ceremonies… and obviously I LOVE to photograph them. Having more creative freedom with elopements really opens the door to what I believe is the perfect combination of being a photojournalist & Savannah adventure enthusiast. Hunter and I have both found phenomenal hidden picturesque locations, have restaurants that we love to frequent & both grew up learning how to craft the perfect low country adventure. I mean… how awesome would it be to get a few kayaks… paddle across the river to Cockspur lighthouse and get married right there at low tide with the dolphins swimming beside you. SO COOOOOOL!!!!

When I begin to plan my ideal wedding day it will start with “what are activities and places that we LOVE?” Mine would definitely involve a sunset boat ride, exploring the barrier islands of savannah, chasing dolphins & spending time with loved ones at the beach. I think that it is just SO COOL to break “tradition” and create a wedding day that is TOTALLY YOU AND YOUR PARTNER! Because I am just so enamored by this approach to weddings… I want to shoot what I would want for myself!

Yuki & Jieun decided to walk from his apartment to his favorite square, get married and then walk back to his place to cook dinner together. For years Hunter & Yuki have had cooking “dates” and I love that they are passionate about cooking because I am passionate about eating… haha! It felt simply magical and carefree to marry our friends and celebrate with them. Congrats, Yuki & Jieun! We love you and are so happy for you.
